Finland Seeks Clarification From Israel Over Treatment of Detained Gaza Flotilla Activists

(MENAFN) Finland has said it will request an explanation from Israel’s ambassador regarding the treatment of activists detained from a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, according to statements from the Finnish Foreign Ministry.

As stated by reports, the ministry said it does not accept the conduct shown in recently circulated footage and expects clarification on how detained members of the Global Sumud Flotilla were handled after their interception.

The comments followed the release of a video by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, which appeared to show detained activists restrained and forced to kneel after being taken into custody by Israeli forces in international waters.

The Finnish Foreign Ministry emphasized that detainees must be treated in accordance with international legal standards, including respect for due process, legal protection, and personal safety.
